BOREAL
Public testnet first

A network you
can inspect.

Three research node processes validate and synchronize a separate Boreal chain. Download the preview to replay its blocks independently. Open peer participation is the next network milestone.

Public access is a read-only preview. The nodes run on one host. There is no mainnet, faucet, live bridge or coin sale. The trivial test proof of work is separate from the NVIDIA mining research.

Verify it yourself

The preview contains node source, frozen consensus rules, tests, a dependency pin and source hashes. The node downloads the public chain snapshot over HTTPS and independently checks the pinned genesis, proof of work, transaction signatures and accounting.

python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
python -m unittest -v research.test_testnet_v1
python -m research.testnet_node_v1 --state ./preview-state --port 17110 --public-snapshot

Run those commands inside a virtual environment after extracting the download. The local node listens only on 127.0.0.1:17110. It follows a read-only snapshot; it cannot send blocks or transactions back to the seed. Default rewards are deliberately unspendable test outputs.

Cross-chain direction

Ethereum and Solana representations are designed as claims on escrowed BOREAL. BTC into and out of Boreal needs a separately backed BTC asset and Bitcoin redemption. The current local ledger has no multi-asset support. No bridge address is available.
