One native asset.
Explicit backing.

Boreal’s proposed cross-chain roadmap covers BOREAL representations on Ethereum and Solana, plus BTC moving into and out of Boreal.

Design and local accounting research only. No contracts, token mints, Bitcoin custody, chain-proof verification or real-fund bridge are deployed. Do not send funds.

Three routes, distinct responsibilities

RouteDesign objectiveDependencies
Boreal ↔ EthereumNative BOREAL escrow backs an ERC-20 representation; verified burns authorize redemption.Native escrow, destination contract, proof or explicit authority rules, finality and review.
Boreal ↔ SolanaThe same canonical BOREAL accounting backs an SPL-compatible representation.Controlled mint authority, burn/redemption verification and independent program tests.
Bitcoin ↔ BorealLocked BTC backs a separate BTC asset on Boreal, redeemable to Bitcoin.Bitcoin deposit/custody and proof rules, reorg handling, multi-asset support and redemption validation.

Wrapping does not create extra BOREAL

Canonical units remain integer atoms. Total external wrapped supply plus reserved mints and reserved releases must remain covered by native escrow. One deposit cannot back simultaneous mints on Ethereum and Solana. A Bitcoin-backed balance must have its own BTC collateral pool; it is not an automatic purchase of BOREAL.

The current milestone

Local accounting work models lock, reserve, mint, burn and release transitions, replay protection, route/recipient binding and restart validation. Finality observations in that model are simulated inputs, not cryptographic proofs. Unsupported routes must fail closed.

Security before availability

The running ledger lacks the required escrow, multi-asset and production finality features. These require a separately reviewed protocol design. A signer committee introduces trust assumptions; it is not described as trustless. Reorgs, backing loss, double redemption, upgrades, rate limits, custody and incident recovery need dedicated tests and outside review before a bridge protects assets.
